About the Broad-tipped Hermit

The broad-tipped hermit (Anopetia gounellei) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is endemic to Brazil. The broad-tipped hermit was for a time placed in the very large genus Phaethornis. It is now placed in the monotypic genus Anopetia. It has no subspecies.
