About the Rufous Scrubbird

The rufous scrubbird (Atrichornis rufescens) is a species of bird in the family Atrichornithidae. It is endemic to eastern Australia. One of two species of Atrichornis, known as scrubbirds, the only extant populations of the Atrichornithidae family; the noisy scrubbird Atrichornis clamosus is restricted to a small population in western Australia. Two subspecies are recognized: the nominate Atrichornis rufescens rufescens, and A. rufescens ferrieri.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 53 recordings for this species: 28 CC BY-NC-ND · 25 CC BY-NC-SA. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
