Dulit Frogmouth (Batrachostomus harterti)

About the Dulit Frogmouth
The Dulit frogmouth (Batrachostomus harterti) is a little-known species of bird in the frogmouth family, Podargidae, with a patchily recorded distribution in the Borneo montane rain forests to which it is endemic. The species is monotypic. The type specimen was collected by Charles Hose in 1891 on Mount Dulit in northern Sarawak, at an elevation of about 600 m, with the bird being taken "in a small jungle hut into which it had flown in the dusk evidently attracted by the light". The common name reflects the type locality, while the specific epithet honours German ornithologist Ernst Hartert.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 6 recordings for this species: 6 CC BY-NC-SA. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
