The orange-fronted barbet (Capito squamatus) is a species of bird in the family Capitonidae. It is found Ecuador and Colombia. The orange-fronted barbet is monotypic. It and the spot-crowned barbet (Capito maculicoronatus) are sister species and may form a superspecies.
