About the Tanimbar Monarch

The Tanimbar monarch (Carterornis castus), or Loetoe monarch is a bird in the family Monarchidae endemic to Indonesia. It is found in the Tanimbar Islands. This subspecies was formerly placed in the genus Monarcha until moved to Carterornis in 2009. While the Tanimbar monarch was formerly considered a subspecies of the white-naped monarch (C. pileatus), it is now considered a separate species.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 8 recordings for this species: 5 CC BY-NC-SA · 3 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
