About the Cordoba Cinclodes

The Cordoba cinclodes or Comechingones cinclodes (Cinclodes comechingonus) is a species of bird in the Furnariinae subfamily of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is endemic to Argentina. (Major taxonomic systems spell the species' English name "Cordoba" rather than "Córdoba" so this article does so as well.). The Cordoba cinclodes was treated by several mid- to later twentieth century authors as a subspecies of what was then the bar-winged cinclodes (C. fuscus sensu lato) before it was split into several species. Data available since 2000 have confirmed that it is a species in its own right and not closely related to any of the bar-winged cinclodes' "daughters". The Cordoba cinclodes is monotypic.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 3 recordings for this species: 2 CC BY-NC-SA · 1 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.

Listed as recorded in Argentina in the xeno-canto catalogue.
