Dwarf Cuckoo (Coccycua pumila)

About the Dwarf Cuckoo
The dwarf cuckoo (Coccycua pumila) is a tropical American bird species of the cuckoo family (Cuculidae). It was formerly placed in the genus Coccyzus or Micrococcyx. Following the discovery that it belongs to a distinct lineage around the little cuckoo, the genus Coccycua has been reinstated for these. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, Panama, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and heavily degraded former forest.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 11 recordings for this species: 6 CC BY-NC-SA. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
