About the Hoffmanns's Woodcreeper

Hoffmanns's woodcreeper (Dendrocolaptes hoffmannsi) is a Vulnerable species of bird in the subfamily Dendrocolaptinae of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is endemic to Brazil. Hoffmanns's woodcreeper is monotypic. It has in the past been treated as a subspecies of the black-banded woodcreeper (D. picumnus). Hoffmanns's, the black-banded, and the planalto woodcreeper (D. platyrostris) are very closely related, and several authors have suggested that they are conspecific.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 10 recordings for this species: 7 CC BY-NC-SA · 3 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
