Coopmans's elaenia (Elaenia brachyptera) is a species of bird in subfamily Elaeniinae of family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Coopmans's elaenia was previously known as a subspecies of the lesser elaenia (C. chiriquensis). Based on a study published in 2015, taxonomic systems recognized it as a species starting in 2016. Coopmans's elaenia is monotypic.
