About the Caatinga Parakeet
The Caatinga parakeet (Eupsittula cactorum), also called the cactus parakeet and in aviculture the cactus conure, is a species of bird in subfamily Arinae of the family Psittacidae, the African and New World parrots. It is endemic to eastern Brazil. Two subspecies are accepted, the nominate E. c. cactorum (Kuhl, 1820) and E. c. caixana (Spix, 1824). The Cattinga parakeet and the brown-throated parakeet (E. pertinax) form a species pair.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 39 recordings for this species: 27 CC BY-NC-SA · 12 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
