About the Marsh Antwren

The marsh antwren (Formicivora acutirostris) is an insectivorous bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is endemic to southeastern Brazil. The South American Classification Committee of the American Ornithological Society (SACC), the International Ornithological Committee (IOC), and the Clements taxonomy recognize two subspecies of marsh antwren, the nominate F. a. acutirostris (Bornschein, Reinert & Teixera, 1995) and F. a. paludicola (Buzzetti et al., 2013).

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 52 recordings for this species: 41 CC BY-NC-SA · 11 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
