The black-hooded antwren (Formicivora erythronotos) is an Endangered Species of bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is endemic to Brazil. The black-hooded antwren was originally described as Formicivora erythronotos. During much of the 20th century it was placed in genus Myrmotherula but by around the year 2000 it was returned to Formicivora on the basis of a morphological and vocal study. The black-hooded antwren is monotypic.
