About the Narrow-billed Antwren

The narrow-billed antwren (Formicivora iheringi) is a species of bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is endemic to eastern Brazil. The narrow-billed antwren is monotypic. The narrow-billed antwren is not closely related to other members of genus Formicivora. In the early twentieth century some authors placed it in the monotypic genus Neorhopias. More recent studies have revived that suggestion.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 34 recordings for this species: 24 CC BY-NC-SA · 10 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
