About the Striated Earthcreeper

The striated earthcreeper (Geocerthia serrana) is a species of bird in the Furnariinae subfamily of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is endemic to Peru. The striated earthcreeper was long placed in genus Upucerthia with several other earthcreepers. Genetic studies in the early 2000s refuted that placement and genus Geocerthia was created for it. The striated earthcreeper has two subspecies, the nominate G. s. serrana (Taczanowski, 1875) and G. s. huancavelicae (Morrison, ARG, 1938).

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 22 recordings for this species: 11 CC BY-NC-SA · 11 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
