The black-polled yellowthroat (Geothlypis speciosa) is a Vulnerable species of bird in the family Parulidae, the New World warblers. It is endemic to Mexico. The black-polled yellowthroat was formally described in 1859 with its current binomial Geothlypis speciosa. It has two subspecies, the nominate G. s. speciosa (PL Sclater, 1859) and G. s. limnatis (Dickerman, 1970).
