Sucre Antpitta (Grallaricula cumanensis)

About the Sucre Antpitta
The Sucre antpitta (Grallaricula cumanensis) is a Vulnerable species of bird in the family Grallariidae. It is endemic to Venezuela. The Sucre antpitta has two subspecies, the nominate G. c. cumanensis (Hartert, 1900) and G. c. pariae (Phelps, WH & Phelps, HW Jr, 1949). Both were originally treated as subspecies of the slaty-crowned antpitta (G. nana). A study published in 2008 prompted taxonomic systems to elevate them to their current status.
