About the Amazonian Antpitta

The Amazonian antpitta (Myrmothera berlepschi) is a species of bird in the family Grallariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru. The Amazonian antpitta was originally described in 1903 as Grallaria berlepschi. It was later transferred to genus Hylopezus and still later to Myrmothera. The Amazonian antpitta has two subspecies, the nominate M. b. berlepschi (Hellmayr, 1903), and M. b. yessupi (Carriker, 1930).
