About the Blue-billed Black Tyrant

The blue-billed black tyrant (Knipolegus cyanirostris) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The blue-billed black tyrant was formally described in 1818 as Muscicapa cyanirostris, placing it in the Old World flycatcher family. It was later transferred to genus Knipolegus, which was erected in 1826 with it as the type species. The blue-billed black tyrant is monotypic.
