Rufous-tailed Xenops (Microxenops milleri)

About the Rufous-tailed Xenops
The rufous-tailed xenops (Microxenops milleri) is a species of bird in the Furnariinae subfamily of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela, and possibly French Guiana. The rufous-tailed xenops was originally placed in genus Microxenops, which in the 1950s was merged into Xenops. By 2011 genetic data showed that it did not belong in Xenops and the previous Microxenops was restored. The rufous-tailed xenops is the only member of its genus and has no subspecies.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 21 recordings for this species: 2 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
