White-bibbed Antbird (Myrmoderus loricatus)

About the White-bibbed Antbird
The white-bibbed antbird (Myrmoderus loricatus) is a species of passerine bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is endemic to Brazil. The white-bibbed antbird was formerly included in the genus Myrmeciza. A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2013 found that Myrmeciza, as then defined, was polyphyletic. In the resulting rearrangement to create monotypic genera, four species including the white-bibbed antbird were moved to the resurrected genus Myrmoderus. Some authors have suggested that the white-bibbed antbird and the squamate antbird (M. squamosus) are conspecific but the 2013 study confirmed them as sister species. The white-bibbed antbird is monotypic.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 112 recordings for this species: 89 CC BY-NC-SA · 23 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
