Luzon Hornbill (Penelopides manillae)

About the Luzon Hornbill
The Luzon hornbill (Penelopides manillae), sometimes called Luzon tarictic hornbill, is a species of hornbill in the family Bucerotidae. It is endemic to forests on Luzon and nearby islands in the northern Philippines. All five Philippine tarictics were once considered a single species. It is declining due to habitat destruction, hunting and the illegal wildlife trade. It is illegal to hunt, capture or possess these birds under Philippine Law RA 9147.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 11 recordings for this species: 9 CC BY-NC-SA · 2 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
