About the Grey-backed Tachuri

The grey-backed tachuri (Polystictus superciliaris) is a species of bird in subfamily Elaeniinae of family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is endemic to Brazil. The grey-backed tachuri shares genus Polystictus with the bearded tachuri (P. pectoralis) but several authors have described the relationship as weak and needing confirmation. The grey-backed tachuri is monotypic.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 28 recordings for this species: 25 CC BY-NC-SA · 3 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
