About the Spinifexbird
The spinifexbird (Poodytes carteri) is endemic to inland Australia. Also known as Carter's desertbird, it is named after Thomas Carter, an English ornithologist and pastoralist active in Western Australia from 1887 to 1928. It has a rich brown cap, golden brown streaked wings, and a long tail. Both sexes are alike.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 5 recordings for this species: 3 CC BY-NC-SA · 2 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
