About the White-eared Parakeet
The white-eared parakeet or maroon-faced parakeet (Pyrrhura leucotis) is a Vulnerable species of bird in subfamily Arinae of the family Psittacidae, the African and New World parrots. It is endemic to Brazil. The white-eared parakeet is monotypic. However, what are now the Venezuelan parakeet (P. emma), the grey-breasted parakeet (P. griseipectus), and Pfrimer's parakeet (P. pfrimeri) were all at one time treated as subspecies of it.
