Mottled Berryhunter (Rhagologus leucostigma)

About the Mottled Berryhunter
The mottled berryhunter or mottled whistler (Rhagologus leucostigma) is a species of bird that is monotypic within the genus Rhagologus and family Rhagologidae. The species was long thought to be a member of the Pachycephalidae on the basis of its appeareance, but genetic studies have now found it is not related to that family. It is endemic to the highlands of New Guinea, where its natural habitat is tropical moist montane forests.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 8 recordings for this species: 3 CC BY-NC-SA. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
