About the Harlequin Antbird

The harlequin antbird (Rhegmatorhina berlepschi) is a species of bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is endemic to Brazil. The five members of genus Rhegmatorhina are sisters to the three species of genus Gymnopithys. The harlequin antbird frequently hybridizes with the congeneric white-breasted antbird (R. hoffmannsi). The harlequin antbird is monotypic.
