The Orinoco softtail (Thripophaga cherriei) is a Vulnerable species of bird in the Furnariinae subfamily of the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It is found in Colombia and Venezuela. The Orinoco softtail is monotypic. The Orinoco softtail's specific epithet honors George Kruck Cherrie, who collected the first two specimens in 1899 on the Orinoco River in Venezuela.
