About the Leaf Lorikeet

The leaf lorikeet (Trichoglossus weberi), also known as the Flores lorikeet or Weber's lorikeet, is a species of parrot that is endemic to the Indonesian island of Flores. It was previously considered a subspecies of the rainbow lorikeet, but following a review in 1997, it is increasingly treated as a separate species. Unlike all other members of the rainbow lorikeet group, the leaf lorikeet has an overall green plumage, with only a paler lime green chest and collar. With a total length of approximately 23 cm (9 in), it is the smallest member of the rainbow lorikeet group.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 9 recordings for this species: 5 CC BY-NC-SA · 2 CC BY · 2 CC BY-NC-ND. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.

As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
