White-cheeked Cotinga (Zaratornis stresemanni)

About the White-cheeked Cotinga
The white-cheeked cotinga (Zaratornis stresemanni) is a Near Threatened species of bird in the family Cotingidae, the cotingas. It is endemic to Peru. The white-cheeked cotinga was formally described in 1954 and assigned to genus Zaratornis that was erected for it. Some late twentieth century authors merged Zaratornis into Ampelion but this treatment was not widely adopted. The white-cheeked cotinga is the only species in its genus and has no subspecies.

We only publish recordings we may use commercially, because this site is supported by ads. xeno-canto lists 4 recordings for this species: 4 CC BY-NC-SA. None of them permits commercial use, so there is no player here — the page is kept as a profile so the bird is not missing from the guide.
As soon as someone uploads a freely licensed recording, we mirror it and the player appears here.
