About the White-bellied Dacnis
The white-bellied dacnis (Dacnis albiventris) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae, the tanagers and allies. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. The white-bellied dacnis was formally described in 1852 with the binomial Pipraeidea albiventris. For a time it was assigned its own genus Hemidacnis but has been assigned to Dacnis since the middle of the twentieth century. The species is monotypic.
